Colusa County is a county located in California's Central Valley, northwest of Sacramento. As of 2000, the population was 18,804. The county seat is Colusa.
Colusa County was one of the first counties of California, created in 1850 at the time of statehood. Parts of the county's territory were given to Tehama County in 1856 and to Glenn County in 1891. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 2,995 km² (1,156 mi²). 2,980 km² (1,151 mi²) of it is land and 14 km² (6 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.48% water.
